Toño Leña's daughter arrested for real estate fraud linked to Operation Guepardo

Santo Domingo, D.R.Samayra del Rosario Barreto, daughter of the renowned drug trafficker Ramón Antonio del Rosario Puente, alias Toño Leña, was arrested this Wednesday after being linked to the real estate fraud network dismantled in Operation Guepardo, which involves a fraud exceeding 18 million dollars. According to the Public Ministry, the accused allegedly formed part of the company Novasco Real Estate, SRL, used to attract Dominican investors abroad and foreigners interested in retirement projects, which turned out to be fictitious. You may be interested in: http://MP says it presented evidence that dismantles the version of “interchange of shots” in La Barranquita Also arrested on the same day were Loana Paola Guerrero Milián, accountant for the firm; lawyer Javier Gustavo Ulloa Bueno, accused of intimidating the victims to prevent claims; and the "master broker" Astrid Inmaculada Rydelis Bello. For the case, Marisol Nova Nolasco, Rocío del Alba Rodríguez de Moya, and Yves Alexandre Giroux are already in preventive detention. The authorities highlighted that the network even used the international brand RE/MAX to generate trust among investors. Currently, Toño Leña is serving a sentence in the United States since 2021 for drug trafficking, after being captured in Colombia in 2018.

Awaiting extradition

Another of those involved, Loany Lismeiry Ortiz Nova, was arrested in Colombia in February 2025 when she was trying to cross into Venezuela. She remains under arrest awaiting the outcome of her extradition process.
