"Marranzini is the biggest disgrace of the Dominican people"; Legislators willing to question him about blackouts

Santo Domingo.- Legislators of the National Congress expressed their willingness to interpellate the president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (EDEs), Celso Marranzini, to explain the investments in the electricity sector and the long periods of blackouts. In that sense, Representative Ramón Bueno called Marranzini "the greatest misfortune of the Dominican people," amid growing demands from society for the lack of electricity.

Likewise, the deputy of the Dominican Revolutionary Party, Ramón Raposo, said that Marranzini should be questioned about the blackouts of 8 and up to 10 hours that different demarcations of the country are experiencing. From his side, the deputy of the Dominican Liberation Party, Danilo Díaz, understands that the government has failed in fundamental areas such as the electricity sector for not giving continuity to the policies applied during the past administration. It is recalled that the Chamber of Deputies approved in April three loan agreements for a total of 225 million for various improvements, including to improve the distribution of electricity.
