Azua. – This Saturday morning, a meeting was held between members of the Convergencia Movement and the members of the slate presented by said current for the upcoming elections of the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP), Azua section.
In the event, the candidates presented their proposals and work commitments. Gustavo Guzmán, candidate for the presidency of the CDP, emphasized the need to strengthen the continuous training of journalists and guarantee better conditions for professional practice.
For his part, Luis García, candidate for the Institute of Provision and Protection of the Journalist (IPPP), highlighted the importance of implementing social support, health, and well-being programs for members of the guild.
Robinson Castro, aspiring member of the disciplinary committee, emphasized that he will work for transparency, respect for the code of ethics, and the defense of the journalist’s image.
Also participating were María Fernán and Pedro Belliard, who expressed their support for the Convergence program and highlighted unity as key to facing the challenges facing the sector in the province and the country.
The meeting concluded with a call for massive participation in the elections, reaffirming the slate’s commitment to the defense and institutional strengthening of the CDP.
