Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Migration, along with the State security forces, detained 1,359 undocumented Haitians and deported another 1,132, the Public Ministry reported this Tuesday.
In the province of Santo Domingo, 181 people were detained out of the total number of undocumented Haitians arrested; in Montecristi 78, in the East zone 76, in Mao/Santiago Rodríguez 68, in La Vega 58, in Pedernales 54, and in Azua 43, among other territorial demarcations.

In addition, 366 people were arrested by the Army, 153 by Cesfront, and 110 by the National Police, in operations that also had the support of the Ministry of Defense, the Navy, the Air Force, Ciutran, and Digesett, among other institutions.
Of the total deportations, 492 Haitians were handed over to the immigration authorities of their country through the Elías Piña border crossing; 389 through Dajabón; 138 through Pedernales and 113 through Jimaní.
Migration recalled that "these actions are deployed with the aim of strengthening security and citizen integrity, as well as preventing the risks associated with irregular immigration".
For the DGM, operations follow safety protocols and comply with internal regulations and international standards, as well as the fundamental principles of due process, the presumption of innocence, and dignified treatment of all people.
