The tribute was granted in the presence of the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, magistrate Luis Henry Molina, the president of the Constitutional Court, magistrate Napoleón Estévez, as well as international representatives, including Álvaro Herrero from the International Open Justice Network, Ana from the Open Government Partnership, and Tatiana de P. from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Visibly moved, Ortiz Bosch thanked the recognition and shared it with all those who, over decades, have contributed to strengthening Dominican democracy and the foundations of a more transparent judicial system. She recalled historical milestones of the country’s democratic struggle and emphasized that “without justice there is no possible democracy”.“This recognition is not only mine, but of all those who have worked to open institutions to the citizen, so that justice is not a myth, but a tangible and close reality,” he expressed. Ortiz Bosch called to consolidate efforts towards an open State and society, highlighting the importance of citizen participation, accountability and transparency as unavoidable pillars of justice.
