Modesto Reyes among the favorites for the FP Political Directorate

Santo Domingo. – Regarding the electoral process that the Fuerza del Pueblo will hold next Sunday, the leader Modesto Reyes, identified with the number 66 on the ballot, is projected as one of the main favorites and will be, according to leaders and internal analysts, one of the most voted to occupy one of the ten available positions in the Political Directorate of the organization. Various internal sectors have expressed support for Reyes’ candidacy, highlighting her political career, her commitment to democratic values, and her active participation in the work of strengthening the party’s institutional framework. Dr. Modesto Reyes Valentín is a long-standing political and academic leader. He is one of the founders of Fuerza del Pueblo, an organization in which he currently serves as head of the Secretariat of Rural Development. In addition, he has served as a political liaison in the province of Samaná and campaign coordinator in María Trinidad Sánchez, roles that have allowed him direct and close contact with the grassroots. In the academic and professional field, Reyes has a solid track record. He was dean of the Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences of the UASD between 2011 and 2018, and directed the School of Agronomic Engineering of that institution between 1999 and 2001, where he has also been a professor for more than 35 years. Likewise, he held the directorship of the Center for Agricultural Technologies of the Dominican Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research between 2003 and 2011. His research work earned him the 2020 National Research Award in the Agri-food area, awarded by the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology. Currently, he is a member of the Central Directorate of the Fuerza del Pueblo and one of the most prestigious political figures in the organization. His identification with the number 66 on the ballot makes him a clear reference for voters seeking to strengthen the line of growth and renewal promoted by the Fuerza del Pueblo.
