More classrooms for Cristóbal: School Infrastructure announces 12 new educational spaces

Independencia.– The Director of School Infrastructure (DIE), Roberto Herrera, reported that the Cristóbal municipality will have 12 new classrooms for the next school year, as part of the expansion and improvement plan for educational spaces that the institution is developing in the Independencia province.

During a supervision tour of several educational centers in the district, Herrera highlighted the progress of the construction and renovation work, while assuring that the new facilities will meet the necessary conditions to guarantee an adequate environment for students and teachers.

The official explained that the entity is working to deliver around 1,500 new classrooms and others rehabilitated to the national educational system, with an approximate investment of RD$4 billion, resources approved to continue strengthening school infrastructure.

Herrera pointed out that, although it is not possible to intervene in all the country’s schools simultaneously, the projects are progressing according to the established planning and with the goal of responding to the needs of the educational communities.

Likewise, he indicated that several works that remained halted will be completed and delivered before the start of the next school year, after completing the corresponding administrative processes.

During the visit, representatives of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) in Cristóbal positively assessed the progress of the work and expressed satisfaction with the quality of the classrooms that will be incorporated into the educational system.

The DIE assured that it maintains the monitoring of ongoing projects to ensure that the works are delivered within the scheduled deadlines and for the benefit of students and teachers.
