Amidst tears and deep indignation, family members of the victims recounted that the mother, Anatalia Rodríguez, 62 years old, always tried to help her son, whom she visited frequently during his judicial process.

“My sister fought so hard to get him out and look how he paid her back,” expressed a relative, assuring that the family made multiple efforts for his release.

The other deceased, Pedro Cordero Rodríguez, was a refrigeration technician and a member of an evangelical congregation. The assault occurred around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to initial reports. The Last Minute cameras captured how blood stains still remain in one of the rooms and a bloodied sheet. The authorities collected two bloodied iron bars, one with a wooden handle and the other partially bent, which are presumed to have been used in the attack. After committing the double homicide, Daniel Moisés Rodríguez voluntarily surrendered at the N-1 detachment in Villa Mella, where he confessed to the crime. The authorities immediately activated the investigative units and are keeping the detainee in custody for submission to justice.
