The operation was carried out on February 18th, after a complaint circulated on social media, spread through social networks and news platforms, in which drivers warned that unknown individuals were throwing stones at moving vehicles to force them to stop and subsequently rob them of their belongings. During the arrest, the first two were found to have bladed weapons of the machete type, one approximately 20 inches and the other 21 inches, which they were carrying at their waists. Also, through on-site inspection, a sack containing several stones was seized, presumably used to throw them at vehicles traveling on the aforementioned road. In that sense, the detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, for the corresponding legal purposes, while the authorities maintain reinforced surveillance in the area to guarantee the safety of drivers.
