Santo Domingo. – Members of the National Police, assigned to the Investigation Division (DICRIM) in the province of Hato Mayor, arrested a man accused of stealing 11 heads of cattle, of which seven had been reported as stolen by a producer from the Los Hatillos community.
The detainee is Juan Manuel Polanco Ramírez (a) Guiro, 44 years old, residing in the same area, who was caught in the act while transporting the cattle.
The investigation began on August 27th, when a citizen reported that, while at his home, he received a call informing him that one of his cows was on the road. Upon arriving at the scene, he discovered that seven of his cattle were missing, which unknown individuals had stolen from his property, which has no residents or guards.
On August 29, during a search operation, the agents located Polanco Ramírez, who at that moment was transporting 11 head of cattle, of which seven had the stamp “S.A.M.”, corresponding to the livestock reported as stolen.
During the preliminary interrogation, the detainee alleged that a certain “Ambiorix” and another nicknamed “Jabao” had given him the animals, supposedly with the intention that they would be collected later in a truck.
Polanco Ramírez was placed under the control of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes, while the Police activate the location of the other those involved.
