National Police reports the surrender of "El Mocho" for the assault on a jewelry store in Cristo Rey and identifies a fifth person involved Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported this Monday the voluntary surrender of Wilkyn Jonathan Báez de los Santos, alias “El Mocho”, who was wanted for his alleged participation in the assault on the Popi Oro jewelry store, located in the Cristo Rey sector, in the National District. According to the official report, the defendant appeared before the authorities accompanied by his legal representative, with the aim of responding to the events attributed to him in relation to the assault that occurred on March 7, 2026.

The law enforcement institution indicated that Báez de los Santos is listed as one of those involved in the robbery, during which high-value garments and cash were stolen. In that same order, the Police revealed that a fifth participant in the case was identified, as part of the progress of the investigation being carried out jointly with the Public Ministry. The authorities reiterated that the search and capture efforts for others involved in this criminal act continue, while urging the fugitives to surrender through the means they deem appropriate.
