San José de Ocoa, R.D. – The intense rains that have affected the region of San José de Ocoa caused critical situations in several communities, especially in El Pinar, where the rise of the La Piedra river isolated numerous residents.
In a video widely circulating on social media, a 9-1-1 unit, with the support of locals, is seen crossing the river to transport a pregnant woman who was on her way to a medical center to give birth. The coordinated action allowed the patient to arrive safely, highlighting the importance of community collaboration in emergencies.
