Santo Domingo.– The court overseeing the Operation Buffalo NK case has postponed until August 10 the hearing against Isidoro Rotestán Clase and the others involved in the alleged drug trafficking and money laundering network, as negotiations for a possible plea deal with the Public Prosecutor’s Office are underway.
The information was provided by prosecutor Miguel Collado, who explained that the postponement will allow for the conclusion of conversations between the prosecuting body and the majority of the defendants. “We hope that by that day the agreement will be signed by all parties and can be presented to the court,” he stated.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s representative, the case file involves 15 defendants, including both individuals and legal entities. Of that total, 14 are in discussions to reach an agreement, while one of the accused remains in the United States serving a sentence for a drug trafficking case, and therefore, is not currently part of the negotiations.

Operation Buffalo NK was deployed in September 2024 to dismantle an alleged international drug trafficking network that, according to investigations, operated between Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the United States, and Europe. Authorities maintain that the organization moved large shipments of cocaine and that during the investigation, 12 drug trafficking operations were documented, six of which were thwarted with the seizure of 1,824 kilograms of that drug.
