Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that this Saturday, January 17, the Floating Bridge over the Ozama river will be temporarily closed from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., due to the passage of a vessel.
During that period, vehicular traffic will be completely suspended, so the authorities recommended that drivers take alternate routes to avoid congestion.

As optional routes, those traveling between Santo Domingo and Villa Duarte, or vice versa, can use the Matías Ramón Mella and Juan Pablo Duarte bridges. As explained by Public Works, the closure is due to the crossing of the vessel R/M Pelican II, which will perform maneuvers to go to the shipyard Joseph Industrial Development, located in the Ozama area. The institution urged citizens to plan their time and follow the instructions of the transit authorities to reduce inconveniences.
