Peruvian citizen ordered 12 months of pre-trial detention for false bomb threat at AILA

Santo Domingo Este. The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention of Santo Domingo Este ordered 12 months of preventive prison against Ángel del Pino Cuya, a Peruvian citizen accused of causing a false bomb alarm at the Las Américas International Airport (AILA). The coercive measure must be fulfilled at the Las Parras Correction and Rehabilitation Center, as determined by the court.

The defendant is accused of causing the false alarm on January 6th, an act that activated the airport’s security protocols, generating concern among passengers, employees, and authorities, as well as delays in air operations.
