PN captures fugitive accused of homicide and recovers firearm used in the crime

La Vega, R.D. – Members of the Cibao Sur Investigation Sub-Directorate (Bonao), in coordination with the Investigation Sub-Directorate (Dicrim) of La Vega, arrested Miguel Ángel Cruz Gómez, 43 years old, a fugitive accused of homicide, also managing to seize the firearm used in the act that cost the life of Edison Antonio Moronta Concepción. The detainee, a resident of La Vega, was wanted via arrest warrant No. 2025-AJ0057773, for alleged violation of articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, to the detriment of Moronta Concepción (deceased) and Rosanna Inmaculada Concepción Valerio, who was affected in the same case.

Following his capture in the Borojol sector, Bonao, members of the Division of Investigations of Crimes and Offenses against the Person (Homicides), P.N., La Vega, interrogated him regarding the weapon used, managing to locate the place where he had hidden it. Subsequently, in the company of the crime scene processing unit, a Smith & Wesson revolver, caliber 38 mm, black color, with black rubber grip, illegible numbering, containing three cartridges of the same caliber, was recovered. The weapon was sent to the Scientific Police laboratory for comparative ballistics tests with the different cases that are held at the national level.
