Agents of the National Police arrested a man to whom they seized a rifle, cash and a significant amount of alleged narcotic substances, during an intervention carried out in the National District.
The arrest occurred when a police team from the Office of Operations of the Department of Crimes and Offenses against Property was patrolling on Máximo Gómez avenue corner Arturo Logroño, where a Hyundai minibus, year 2013, white color, license plate I062401, driven by Kelvin Jhonathan de la Cruz Polanco, a resident of Mata Hambre, was stopped.

During the vehicle search, the agents detected a hidden compartment under the central rear seat. In that place they found RD$500,000 in cash (200 bills of RD$2,000 and 100 bills of RD$1,000), a 5.56 caliber Colt rifle, model M4, with a magazine with capacity for 30 capsules, five kilos of a white powder presumably cocaine, five additional portions of the same material, eight portions of a rocky substance of black and white color presumably synthetic drug (molly), as well as other portions of rocky material pending analysis. The detainee was transferred to the National Police Palace and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal purposes, while investigations continue to establish the origin of the weapon, the money, and the seized substances.
