Police arrest security guard involved in the death of a young businesswoman in Los Guaricanos

Santo Domingo Norte. – Agents of the Central Sub-Directorate of Investigation (DICRIM), attached to the Santo Domingo Norte Regional Directorate of the National Police, arrested Apolinar De La Cruz Adbrincola, 31 years old, identified as the perpetrator of the homicide of the young businesswoman Iliana Rosemary Marte de Báez, whose body was found last Monday, the 21st of this month, in her office, located in the San Gerónimo residential area, sector Colinas del Arroyo II. The investigations carried out by the agents allowed to establish that the detainee, who worked as security for the aforementioned residential, deliberately abandoned his surveillance post to break into the victim’s workplace.

During the investigation process, it was established that the perpetrator attempted to divert the course of the investigation by pointing to a delivery person as the main suspect in the crime. However, the meticulous work of the investigators determined that the detainee showed clear signs of having had a physical struggle with the victim. Later, during the interrogation, De La Cruz Adbrincola admitted to having taken the lady’s life by strangulation, fleeing the scene and then returning to his usual workplace. The Public Ministry is deepening investigations to verify the veracity of the various allegations presented by the aggressor regarding the circumstances surrounding the crime. The National Police highlights that this crime represents an act of absolute violence and cowardice, which has dismayed the entire community. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the investigators, the case was clarified in a timely manner, and the person responsible is in custody. The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, for the corresponding legal purposes.
