Santo Domingo.- Ruth Esther Bridgewater de la Cruz, a resident of Santo Domingo Este, has a high-risk twin pregnancy and is urgently requesting financial support to be able to afford a cesarean section necessary to preserve her life and that of her babies.
Bridgewater, who is in her 36th week of pregnancy, suffers from chronic high blood pressure, morbid obesity, and chronic anemia, medical conditions that considerably elevate the risks associated with childbirth and make a surgical intervention in a specialized center essential.
Due to her health condition, Ruth cannot continue working, and her current income barely covers her basic food needs. The medical procedure has an estimated cost of 70,000 Dominican pesos, not including medications, supplements, or special diet, which makes it impossible for her to afford on her own.
“I am making this call with my heart in my hand. I have done everything possible, but my medical situation does not allow me to work as before. This cesarean section is urgent and vital for me and my two babies,” the young woman said.
