El Seibo.– The president of the Republic, Luis Abinader, led this Friday the inauguration of the Multipurpose Cultural Plaza of El Seibo, also known as Plaza de Toros, a work that he described as a milestone for the cultural, economic and social development of the province of El Seibo.

“Not only the present, the future of El Seibo is bright. We are going to see problems, a lot of problems, because development creates more needs, but we have to develop together”, said President Abinader.
The Head of State explained that the development of infrastructure like this not only boosts the local economy, but also creates opportunities to solve the difficulties that arise with growth, while emphasizing the importance of planning and efficiency in the use of the national budget. He also announced that the square will bear the name of Mr. Eduardo Lima, whom he defined as a person who deeply loved this land. In that order, he clarified that the work belongs to the people of Seibo and will be administered in a consensual manner through a diverse board.“This work is yours, it belongs to the people of El Seibo; we are going to agree on a direction and a diverse board, where there are people from tourism, agriculture and art, so that this infrastructure is used in an organized and beneficial way for everyone”, he pointed out.
The president emphasized that the Multipurpose Cultural Plaza will serve as a stage for artistic activities, tourist events, and meetings linked to the agricultural sector, becoming a driving force for the province. Abinader concluded his speech by assuring that the Government will continue to prioritize works that directly impact the quality of life of the population and called on the community to take care of and enjoy this new space.
