President of the UINL's Commission on American Affairs visits the Dominican College of Notaries

Santo Domingo.– For the first time in history, a president of the Commission of American Affairs (CAAM) of the International Union of Notaries (UINL) visited the headquarters of a notary association to get a close look at its institutional performance. This is Dr. Homero López Obando, who was received in Santo Domingo by the president of the Dominican College of Notaries, Dr. Jhon Richard Paniagua Féliz, along with the members of the Board of Directors and notaries from different branches of the country. During the tour of the institution's different areas and departments, Dr. López Obando positively valued the advances of the Dominican notary, highlighting the modernization, the union strength, and the vision of leadership that drives the current management. He assured that the work carried out in this stage constitutes an example of commitment and international projection for the entire region. Doctor López Obando, who has presided over the Ecuadorian Federation of Notaries since 2016 and the Commission of American Affairs of the UINL since 2023, shared impressions in a fraternal environment, reaffirming the importance of the exchange of experiences to strengthen the notarial function on the continent.

Your visit is part of the XXXVIII National Notarial Conference and the XI International Notarial Conference “Notaries in the New Millennium”, dedicated this year to Dr. Rhadys Iris Abreu Blondet, one of the most influential figures in Dominican and continental notarial practice. Dr. Abreu Blondet was president of the Dominican College of Notaries between 1985 and 1987, and in the UINL she played a prominent role at the head of the Commission of American Affairs, which she chaired in two periods (1993-1995 and 1996-1998). In 2007, she was recognized as honorary president of said organization. Her leadership was decisive in strengthening the guild in the country and projecting its influence in the international notary community.
The academic and guild event will be held from September 12 to 14, 2025 at the Barceló Bávaro Grand Resort, Punta Cana, under the organization of the Dominican College of Notaries, with the participation of jurists and notaries from America and Europe.
