Prosecutor's Office reinforces investigation into the death of an 11-year-old girl on a school excursion in Santiago

Santo Domingo.- The Attorney General of the Republic, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, ordered this Wednesday the strengthening of the investigations related to the death of the 11-year-old girl Stephora Anne-Mircie Joseph, who died during an excursion organized by the Leonardo Da Vinci Institute in a recreational center in Gurabo, Santiago.

Reynoso met in his office with the minor's mother, Lovelie Joseph Raphael, who was accompanied by her lawyers and diplomatic representatives from her country, to present details and request a thorough investigation into the case that occurred last Friday the 14th at the Los Caballos estate.

During the meeting, the prosecutor instructed the deputy prosecutor Wilson Camacho, head of the General Directorate of Prosecution, and the court prosecutor Olga Diná Llaverías, of the National Directorate of Children, Adolescents and Family (Dinnaf), to take immediate actions to clarify with precision the circumstances in which the tragedy occurred. Reynoso affirmed that the Attorney General's Office will strictly monitor the process and that the results of the investigations, initiated from the moment the Santiago Prosecutor's Office was notified, will define the legal steps to be followed by the Public Ministry. He also maintained that the institution is committed to offering a "fair and transparent response" to the family, who are facing profound grief and demanding justice for the death of the minor.
