Azua. – The provincial governor led this Tuesday the act of creation of the Provincial Sub-Council of the Council of the Madre de las Aguas Biosphere Reserve, a space destined to strengthen sustainable management and the protection of natural resources in the southern region of the country.
During her speech, the representative of the Executive Branch offered words of welcome and highlighted the value of this initiative, stating that "the protection of the environment is a commitment of all, and with this Sub Council, the doors are opened to the active participation of communities in the preservation of our resources."
Likewise, Santo Hipólito Comas Guerrero, president of Coopfeproca, valued the creation of the organization and underlined the willingness of local organizations to work together for sustainable development and the conservation of natural heritage.
In the meeting, various provincial and municipal authorities participated, along with representatives from community associations, environmental institutions, and civil society organizations, who expressed their support for the new coordination structure.
With the formation of the Provincial Sub-Council, the aim is to promote joint initiatives aimed at the conservation of ecosystems, the protection of water sources, and the integration of communities in decision-making that directly impacts the Madre de las Aguas Biosphere Reserve, considered one of the main ecological lungs of the region.
