Residents of the El Quisqueya sector denounce vandalism by the owner of a mechanic’s workshop

The workshop is located at Pedro Albizu Campos #7, a business called Activo Garage. Santo Domingo. – Outrage is growing in the El Quisqueya sector due to the constant acts of vandalism committed, according to residents, by one of the owners of the Activo Garage workshop, located on Pedro Albizu Campos street number 6, in the middle of a residential area. According to witnesses and security camera recordings, the individual has repeatedly engaged in puncturing tires and scratching vehicles parked on the sidewalk or in front of their business, actions that constitute criminal and civil violations, specifically damage to private property, sanctioned by law.

The most recent incident occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning, when he was seen intentionally scratching two vehicles: a red pickup truck and a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV, both parked in front of the workshop. These are not isolated incidents; residents claim that there is a pattern of aggressive and hostile behavior against those who park nearby.

“Tenemos pruebas irrefutables: fotos, videos y testigos dispuestos a declarar. Mañana mismo, varios de los propietarios afectados acudirán a la fiscalía a interponer querellas formales y llevarán consigo los testigos y el material probatorio”,

advirtieron representantes comunitarios.

The neighborhood associations of the sector are already coordinating joint actions to formally request the Ayuntamiento del Distrito Nacional and the mayor Carolina Mejía to intervene immediately, also questioning how said business obtained permits to operate in a residential area.

The community demands that the competent authorities act without delay to punish these acts and guarantee peace and respect for private property in the sector.
