Residents of the National District denounce that blackouts of up to four hours continue
Santo Domingo.– Residents of different sectors of the National District denounced that, although the electrical service has shown some improvement in recent months, blackouts of between two and up to four consecutive hours continue to be recorded, mainly at night.
Those affected point out that the situation has forced many families to reuse inverters that they had stored away for some time.
“Here the light goes out and lasts 3 or 4 hours, and one cannot sleep,” expressed Robert, a neighbor from one of the affected neighborhoods.
Some residents claim that power outages occur several times a week, interrupting household chores and nighttime rest.
Others warn that the situation has become unsustainable, because in addition to the inconveniences, the heat and mosquitoes worsen the nights without electricity.
The community calls on the competent authorities and electricity distributors to offer a definitive solution to the blackouts and guarantee the stability of the service in all neighborhoods of the National District.
