About SeNaSa

The National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) arises with the enactment of Law 87-01, which creates the Dominican Social Security System, which establishes SeNaSa as an autonomous and decentralized public institution, responsible for the administration of the health risks of the affiliates of the subsidized, contributory and contributory-subsidized regimes of the public sector, as well as the contributory affiliates of the private sector who voluntarily select it. On September 4, 2002, through Resolution No. 00052-2002 of the Superintendency of Health and Occupational Risks (SISALRIL), SeNaSa was accredited to perform health risk management functions in the Dominican Social Security System. Subsequently, in 2005, it received definitive authorization through Resolution No. 012-2005, after complying with the requirements established and evaluated by said regulatory body.
