Santo Domingo.– With tears and a voice broken by pain, Ana Luisa recounted to the cameras of De Último Minuto the nightmare she is living after the tragic death of her daughter, Ana Mercedes Polanco González, a young woman who was missing for several days and whose body was found lifeless on July 4th in the vicinity of the Mirador Norte Park.
“They called me to tell me that my daughter had been missing for a week and that they knew nothing about her. The last status I saw of my daughter was on July 1st. After that, I didn’t know anything else,” narrated the mother.
She said that it was a friend of her daughter and her niece who alerted her about the disappearance. “I saw a photo in her status and I took a ‘capture’. From that moment on, my anguish began.”
Ana Luisa directly blames her daughter’s environment, especially the husband’s family, with whom the young woman, according to her, had conflicts.
“She left her mother-in-law’s house and they had her prostituting herself. They are showing videos that are not real. My daughter is not seen in any of those videos. They say she left at three in the morning in a black dress, but how do you know that if you say you were sleeping?”
According to the complaint, Ana Mercedes was being manipulated and used by people close to her. Her mother maintains that the mother-in-law, Raysa Ivelisse Suero, has direct responsibility.
“She herself told me that what I had to do was go out and look for my daughter, but you are the one who has to look for her, since you know where she is.”
Ana Mercedes’ body was found wrapped in a black cover, inside a sack, tied up and in an advanced state of decomposition, near gate 4 of Mirador Norte Park. The authorities confirmed her identity days later, after receiving information from the mother about a tattoo on her arm and another on her chest with her name.
Ana Luisa insists that her daughter was a victim of those around her.
“The husband’s mother has to be investigated. They made me work for them. My daughter didn’t need any of that. They turned her into someone she wasn’t,” she firmly denounced.
The mother also revealed that she received a direct threat: “She told me she was going to hurt me where it hurts the most,” she expressed, visibly affected.
In addition, he reported that Isac Martínez Suero, the alleged partner of the deceased and currently held in Najayo prison for gender-based violence, also blamed her for what happened.
“She told me that I am responsible for my daughter not showing up, that she didn’t want to see him in prison. And that wherever she was, God was going to take me from him.”
Ana Luisa demands justice. “This cannot go unpunished. I want everyone who was close to my daughter to be investigated. Whoever did it knew her, and they must pay for what they did.”
