They identify the five men killed in an alleged confrontation with the Police in Santiago

Santiago. – The National Police identified the five men who died during an alleged exchange of gunfire with police officers in the La Barranquita sector. The deceased were identified as Elvis Antonio Jiménez Rodríguez (26 years old), Julio Alberto Gómez (28), José Vladimir Valerio Estévez (25), Edward Bernardo Peña Rodríguez (35) and Carlos Enrique Guzmán Navarro (40). According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred after a chase in which the alleged criminals were traveling in a white Kia vehicle. Upon arriving in front of an apartment building with commercial premises, the occupants allegedly fired at the agents, originating the shootout in which they were killed. The men's bodies were lifted and transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) for autopsy purposes.
