Likewise, the club emphasized "its full confidence in due process and that the authorities will determine the facts with complete transparency". The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) confirmed yesterday that it is collaborating with the DEA in an investigation against businessman Jorge-Puras, who until May 23rd served as honorary advisor for the promotion and development of free trade zones in the Dominican Republic. The businessman was removed from his position after the US authorities informed the anti-drug agency of the investigation, the information added, which added that, according to the investigations, Jorge-Puras carried out his illicit drug trafficking operations between 2003 and 2019. "The investigations were carried out confidentially so as not to hinder the investigation process of the Southern District of Miami," the statement said, after some media revealed this case in the last few hours.
