Santo Domingo Oeste.– The National Police reported the arrest of Gilbert Cabrera Durán “Trujillo”, identified as one of the alleged accomplices in an armed robbery against a motorcycle taxi driver in the Manoguayabo sector, after voluntarily surrendering to the authorities.
Cabrera Durán was received at the headquarters of the Strategic Communications Directorate, headed by Colonel Diego Pesqueira, accompanied by his lawyer Bienvenido Merán, his parents and other close relatives.
The criminal act, captured by video surveillance cameras, went viral on social media, which facilitated the rapid identification of the alleged perpetrators.
Regarding the same case, the Police recalled that on Tuesday, Joel Miguel González, a known criminal who confronted a DICRIM patrol with a firearm in Villa Altagracia, during a follow-up operation, was shot dead.
Likewise, Braylin José Gómez Castillo, alias “El Rubio”, 27 years old, was arrested, who also voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, after being linked to the assault. His detention was carried out by the Fugitives, Rebels and Convicts Capture Unit of the Public Ministry.

The two defendants will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
