Vice President Peña thanks US State Department for recognizing fight against corruption in DR

Santo Domingo. – The Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, thanked the recognition of the United States Department of State for the country’s progress in the fight against corruption and criminal sanctions against corrupt officials. Through his X account, Peña expressed: We thank the State Department for recognizing that the Dominican Republic is advancing with a positive investment climate, with a legal framework that combats corruption and imposes criminal sanctions on corrupt officials. According to the document “2025 Investment Climate Statements: Dominican Republic,” published by the U.S. Department of State, the country has a legal framework that includes laws and regulations to combat corruption and criminal penalties for corrupt officials.

This pronouncement adds to the statements of the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Santo Domingo, Patricia Aguilera, who had pointed out that the administration of President Luis Abinader has also promoted a reliable investment climate that attracts foreign capital and generates thousands of jobs for Dominicans.

“The Abinader administration fosters a reliable investment climate that attracts foreign capital. Thanks to this, American companies are the main source of FDI in the country, generating thousands of jobs and strengthening the economic ties between the United States and the Dominican Republic,” Aguilera had indicated.
