Young man dies after being run over while repairing his motorcycle in Nagua

Nagua, María Trinidad Sánchez. – A traffic accident that occurred on the night of this Sunday, September 7, 2025, on the Nagua–Sánchez highway section, Los Yayales sector, resulted in the death of a 43-year-old young man. The victim was identified as Noe Lantigua Mercedes, a student and resident of the Los Yayales sector. According to preliminary reports, Lantigua was on the road trying to put the chain on his motorcycle when he was run over by a vehicle whose driver is still at large.

The impact caused the instantaneous death of the young man, whose body was taken by family members before the arrival of the personnel of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), so the official diagnosis is still pending. Witnesses indicate that the victim had dismounted his motorcycle to perform the repair at that moment. At the time of the accident, Lantigua was wearing blue jeans and a black sweater. Residents of the area alerted the National Emergency System 9-1-1, facilitating the rapid arrival of the authorities. The case is under investigation with the aim of finding the whereabouts of the driver responsible for the incident.
