Young man reports beating and dispossession of belongings by a C-1 officer in Naco

Santo Domingo.– A young independent worker reported this Thursday that he had been a victim of physical assault, abuse of authority and robbery by an officer of the National Police identified as Major Gómez, assigned to C-1 of Naco.

According to the complainant, who is dedicated to providing tire repair services at home, the incident occurred in the Los Praditos sector, specifically on Doctor Defilló street, while he was working on covering an engine.

The young man claims that Major Gómez approached him and ordered him to stop working at the place. To his surprise, he says that the officer reacted violently:

"He told me he didn't want to see me covering the engine and started hitting me," he recounted.

He also claims that other agents detained him, applied a taser and subsequently transported him into custody. The complainant asserts that, upon being released, he discovered that his belongings had disappeared, including his cell phone and the cash he was carrying.

"When they released me, my belongings were gone. They stole my cell phone, my money, and everything," he stated, asking for help so that his case does not go unpunished.

The young man requests the intervention of the corresponding authorities, as well as human rights organizations, so that what happened is investigated and those responsible are identified.
