Young person disappears in Las Galeras: authorities activate investigation

Samaná.- The young Joshua Elías Binet was staying at the Las Galeras Hotel, an establishment located in the center of the tourist district. As of now, his whereabouts are unknown. According to preliminary information, Joshua left his belongings in the room along with a note indicating his intention to throw himself into the sea, asking not to be searched for.

The young man's mother, Mrs. Virginia Binet, is currently at the hotel where he was last seen, collaborating with the authorities in the search. The Criminal Investigations Department (DICRIM) has initiated the corresponding protocol, including interviews, review of security cameras, and tracking in coastal areas. Versions collected by witnesses indicate that Joshua may be going through a mental health crisis, which has intensified the concern of family and neighbors.
