Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Appraisers Institute (ITADO) assured that around 40.9% of all credit in the national financial system is backed by assessable guarantees.
“According to indicators from the Superintendency of Banks, the mortgage portfolio reached RD$404.986 million, with a year-on-year growth of 14%, confirming the strength of the mortgage market and the critical importance of our work”, said Fernando Ramírez, president of ITADO.

Ramírez highlighted that in the present year, mortgage rates have remained stable, moving between 10.8% and 11.3%. Appraisal as the engine of national development A well-founded report protects credit, guides investment, and ensures fairness in the market, while contributing to the development of the financial system. A mortgage loan application requires the endorsement of an appraisal, and in our country, ITADO is the only professional organization accredited for such purposes. These statements were offered during the Master Lectures Day, within the framework of the guild's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The panelists were Teodosio Cayo, president of UPAV, Alejandro Fernández, superintendent of banks, Rosanna Ruiz, executive president of the multiple banks association (ABA), Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux, general director of cadastre, and Miguel Ángel Hernández Haché, expert in asset management. ITADO is the only organization of appraisal professionals in the country that groups, represents, and defends the practice and continuing education. It was founded on February 27, 1975, incorporated by the Executive Power through decree No. 1413 of October 24, 1975.
