Santo Domingo.- The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) reported that next Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Instant Payments service will be temporarily out of operation due to the global business continuity exercise that the SWIFT Corporation, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, will carry out.

The BCRD specified that the service interruption will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., affecting economic agents, financial intermediation entities, and system users.

The banking entity explained that these exercises are usual and seek to guarantee the quality and security of the payment messaging service that SWIFT offers internationally. The Central Bank apologized for any inconvenience this suspension may cause and appealed for the public’s understanding, reminding that it is a preventive measure to ensure the continuity and reliability of financial operations. Users are advised to schedule their transactions in advance and take the necessary precautions during the period in which the service will be inactive.
