Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes of the Dominican Republic, Ito Bisonó, highlighted this morning of this
Sunday the importance of family values and education at home, when participating in the second edition of the "Plastics for School Supplies" day, an initiative that combines environmental protection with support for the education of children and
young people.
In his speech, the official emphasized that the formation of responsible citizens begins at home and that parents have a fundamental role in building a better country.
“We must teach our children that we must leave the country better than we found it,” he expressed, while urging to foster in the new generations the commitment to the nation, discipline and respect for the environment.
The day, promoted by the Mayor's Office of the National District and supported by companies and entities such as Banreservas, is part of the efforts to reduce the environmental impact of plastic waste and, at the same time, alleviate the economic burden on families with the delivery of school supplies.
International negotiations and investment climate
In other news, the minister also addressed foreign trade issues, particularly the tariff measures applied by the United States. He explained that conversations have been held regarding these tariffs and that the Dominican Republic continues to defend the fundamental agreements reached within the framework of international trade.
He also highlighted that, despite global challenges, the country remains an attractive destination for foreign investment, thanks to the confidence generated by economic policies and stability in international markets.
"We continue to fight for the agreements to be respected, but also to ensure that the Dominican Republic continues to be seen as a reliable partner and a fertile ground for new investments," he indicated.
The minister's participation in this conference reaffirms the integral vision of his management: to promote the country's economic development without detaching it from values-based education, sustainability, and social responsibility.
