Héctor Acosta is reborn after overcoming a health process in 2025

Santo Domingo. - In a conversation marked by sincerity and reflection, the prominent Dominican artist Héctor Acosta, "El Torito", shared a testimony that goes beyond music.

Throughout the interview, on the program Top 13 by Isaura Taveras, El Torito spoke openly about the health process he overcame in 2025, assuring he felt physically and spiritually renewed. He thanked God's kindness and acknowledged that stress and perfectionism significantly influenced his situation.

Beyond the physical, Héctor Acosta highlighted the emotional support received in the most difficult moments, emphasizing the accompaniment of his family, friends, and especially that of his ex-wife. To this was added his faith in God, which restored his peace and the strength needed to move forward and turn the experience into a life lesson.

With a career spanning almost 40 years in the art, Héctor Acosta reflected on the moments that have marked his career and that he treasures today as part of his musical legacy. Among them, he recalled “La Noche del Torito” at the Kartódromo in Santo Domingo in 2008, under the production of René Brea, as well as the unforgettable invitation from Romeo Santos to sing at Madison Square Garden on September 1, 2007, performing the song “El Anillo”. To these milestones is added his debut at Carnegie Hall, an emblematic stage of world music, where he performed with his orchestra.
Regarding the shift in merengue, the artist highlighted the emerging talent that arises every day in the country and the importance of providing opportunities to young people so that they become the next references of Dominican music.

When addressing the new generations, El Torito shared a message of respect and social awareness, recognizing the diversity of current expressions, but highlighting the importance of rescuing values and education from the home. From that same reflection, and based on his personal experience after the health process he went through, he emphasized the need for self-love and health care, reminding that “loving yourself is a priority” and warning that stress is a silent disease.
