Laura Pausini asked Leila Cobo to tell Bad Bunny to sing with her "Turista", a song of hers that she performed at Billboard Week.
Miami.- During her participation this Tuesday in Billboard's Latin Music Week, Laura Pausini surprised by performing "Turista", a song by Bad Bunny, to which she launched an acoustic version and took the opportunity to send an indirect message to the Puerto Rican artist. In good Dominican fashion, Laura threw a "dig" at Leila Cobo, Billboard's Latin content director, asking her to tell Bad Bunny to consider the idea of singing with her the version she released of his song "Turista," this being one of the most fun and spontaneous moments of their conversation. "It's a song that has an incredible meaning, I find it very intelligent, it gives me goosebumps, I would love to one day be able to sing it with him, so I say it here because who knows, he's your fan Leila, so "Benito, here I am," said Laura Pausini sarcastically, being received with applause and smiles from the audience. In a less joking tone, Laura expressed how special it would be to sing her song "Turista" alongside Bad Bunny, due to how interesting it would be to unite the two styles and genres that they both have, mixing urban with pop. Accompanied by her husband, producer and guitarist Paolo Carta, Pausini performed live her version of the song, included in Bad Bunny's most recent album, "Debí Tirar Más Fotos". The presentation took place within the framework of a conversation with Leila Cobo, Billboard's Latin content director. You can read: Emotional! The singer explained that she chose "Turista" because of the meaning of its lyrics. "It's exciting to sing it live, it takes your breath away. Who hasn't experienced this? Or who is experiencing that?" said Pausini, referring to the type of fleeting relationship that the song describes. She also highlighted the central metaphor of the single: “ A relationship that came into your life and left you immediately, using the word ‘tourist’. That's great because a tourist only sees the best of the cities they visit, they don't have time to know all the flaws of a city. I find that very poetic, very intelligent”. The "Turista" version was released by Pausini four months ago and this was the first time she performed it live before an audience. In addition, the artist will be recognized this week with the Billboard Icon Award, as a tribute to her musical career and her global impact.
