“I feel very good, I feel flattered to be here, sharing something different with Luis. We spend a lot of time together and for many years. We have always treated each other with respect, we are good friends, we treat each other like brothers. My children and his children are family”, expressed Peña in conversation with De Último Minuto. During his statements, Peña did not rule out that at some point his own story could be brought to the cinema, although he confessed to feeling like a more reserved profile figure. The gala was attended by renowned figures of Dominican professional baseball such as Edwin Encarnación and Miguel Tejada, as well as representatives of national public life, including the mayor of Santiago, Ulises Rodríguez; former mayor Abel Martínez; and governor Rosa María Santos Méndez. The Hit King narrates the trajectory of Luis Polonia, one of the country's most outstanding hitters, and seeks to inspire new generations through his story on and off the field. For Tony Peña, beyond the tribute, the night was a space to reaffirm the bonds of a friendship built in baseball and strengthened over the years. "Our story was born on the field and is still there," he expressed.
