Jalisco, Mexico.- The Mexican influencer, Valeria Márquez, 23, was shot dead this Wednesday while doing a live broadcast on her TikTok account. The first investigations suggest that it is a femicide case, according to police confirmation.
The tiktoker was connected from her beauty salon, broadcasting live on the Chinese platform when a man attacked her with gunshots without saying a word, the event being captured on camera.
According to the data, the crime occurred around 6:30 p.m. local time in a suburb of Guadalajara. "The victim is a person with an active presence and influence on social media," the state prosecutor's office said in a statement.

A citizen called the authorities after hearing the shots; when they arrived at the scene, they could do nothing for the victim's life.
With over 90 thousand followers on TikTok, her community followed her for her beauty tutorials, personal reflections, and lifestyle. Hours before the attack, Valeria shared a selfie from her salon, wearing a pink body and white pants, while promoting the services of the day.
Valeria was also an entrepreneur. She had won the Miss Face in Guadalajara contest in 2021 and since then built a loyal community on social media.
