Millizen Uribe and Karina Alarcón celebrate their first nomination and compete in the same category at Premios Soberano 2026

Santo Domingo.- Millizen Uribe and Karina Alarcón, both nominated in the "Television Season Program" category at the Soberano Awards 2026, shared the excitement of their first recognition during the meeting for debutant nominees organized by the Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte), held this Thursday at the National Theater. Millizen is nominated for her project "Migrante", while Karina is nominated for "De Cerca", both programs highlighted for their quality content and relevance on Dominican television. "We are very honored by this first nomination and, above all, because the quality work that we are given the opportunity to deliver is being valued," expressed Karina Alarcón, highlighting the importance of the industry recognizing local projects. For her part, Millizen Uribe highlighted Acroarte's commitment to young and female talent: "I love being nominated in this category in programs like Karina's and mine, and seeing how Acroarte is betting on young talent, leaving space for Dominican youth and also for women." Karina agreed that this nomination is an important step to pave the way for new generations. "We are very happy, because we are also nominated in this category with great people and with a lot of experience in the media. I think we are opening the way for more people to be encouraged to create their own content and take risks in the media," she affirmed.

Millizen added that his project represents a bold and necessary proposal for local television. "Today there is a lot of interest and consumption of streaming, but there is a lack of content that is worked on locally. With 'Migrante' we made a bold bet for a program made in the Dominican Republic, based on values, and we call on brands and institutions to support this type of content, which requires effort, money and sacrifice," he said. Karina also emphasized the importance of seeing art as a profession. "We want people to support the figures who want to make a living from art, not just see it as a game. Both Millizen and I have worked many years in the media, and this nomination represents a significant step in our career," she explained.
