Santiago.- The singer, Miriam Cruz will present “The History of a Diva, the Musical”, a show that will pay tribute to the life and career of the iconic Dominican merengue singer.
The staging is inspired by the emotional documentary made by GianCarlos Beras Goico, which will be presented in a single performance in the Restauración hall of the Gran Teatro del Cibao, next Saturday, June 28th at 8:30 pm.
"This show is not just a concert, it's an experience that tells Miriam's life with music, dance, lights, and emotions. We want the audience not only to listen to merengue, but to feel what each stage of her career was like, as if they were living it with her," expressed artistic producer Claudio De La Cruz.
The show is structured in three thematic blocks that trace the artistic evolution of the artist, consisting of "Miriam Cruz, the eternal girl", then "Miriam and the girls", and finally "Miriam Cruz, the Diva of merengue".
GianCarlos Beras Goico indicated that the show was born as a natural extension of the documentary he filmed about the life of Miriam Cruz, a process where her life was explored with the camera, and he understood that her story should not only be told... it should also be sung live, on a stage, with the energy and emotion that only music can transmit.
“Estoy profundamente emocionada por lo que viviremos este 28 de junio en este musical. Este proyecto ha tocado mi alma, porque no solo cuenta mi historia, la canta, la baila y la celebra con cada paso, con cada nota. Volver a mirar mi vida desde el escenario, acompañada por un equipo tan talentoso y entregado, es un regalo que me conmueve y me llena de gratitud”, enfatizó la artista.
enfatizó la artista.
The production combines the cinematic with the musical; every detail, from the lighting and the content on screens to the costumes, is designed to take the viewer to a unique and immersive experience.
The choreographic proposal will be in charge of José Mota and Jhon Lira, who have designed a fusion between the classic essence of merengue and contemporary elements.
“This show promises to be an exciting journey that will connect with the heart of the audience, celebrating not only one of the most beloved voices of merengue, but also a woman whose story has inspired generations”, stated the artistic producer Wilfredo Díaz.
Tickets are available at TodoTikets.
