NEW YORK.– One of the most surprising moments during the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce was the participation of Adam Sandler as the officiant of the ceremony, held last Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York before nearly a thousand guests.
Although at first many wondered why the actor was chosen to play that role, American media explain that Sandler maintains a close relationship with both the singer and the Kansas City Chiefs player. The comedian worked alongside Kelce in the movie “Happy Gilmore 2”, released in 2025, where they both shared scenes and strengthened their friendship.
In Taylor Swift’s case, Sandler has publicly expressed his admiration for the artist on several occasions and has attended The Eras Tour concerts with his daughters. He has even commented in interviews that he always gets nervous when he runs into the singer due to the enthusiasm she inspires in his family.

The siblings of the bride and groom also played a prominent role: Jason Kelce served as Travis’s best man, while Austin Swift, the singer’s brother, was her “man of honor,” replacing the traditional bridesmaids.
