Santo Domingo.– The music platform Spotify launched a special edition of its Anniversary series to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the iconic album Pies Descalzos and the 20th anniversary of Oral Fixation Vol. 1 & 2, two of the albums that marked the career of the Colombian singer Shakira.
As part of this collaboration, Shakira revisits the key moments that defined her global career through these albums, sharing unpublished anecdotes about her creative process, the cultural impact of her songs, and renewed versions of some of her most recognized songs. The new EPs will be available exclusively on Spotify. During this special, the artist performs an emotional version of Hips Don’t Lie, accompanied by a 14-piece string ensemble, with the special participation of Ed Sheeran and Beéle, in a reinterpretation that gives new life to one of her greatest global hits.A Timeless Legacy Across Generations
The figures support the lasting impact of these albums: together they accumulate more than "6.1 billion global streams" on Spotify. In the United States, streams exceed "955 million", while "Mexico" leads as the country with the highest number of listens, even surpassing Colombia, the artist's homeland. Spotify also revealed data on the generational reach of Shakira's music. More than 50% of the streams of Oral Fixation come from listeners under 30 years old, while Pies Descalzos continues to resonate with users between 30 and 44 years old, reflecting its intergenerational relevance.
