Los Angeles (USA).- The new album by the American star Taylor Swift, 'The Life of a Showgirl' surpassed the record of '25', Adele's album, as the best-selling in a single week, reported this Wednesday Billboard.
'The Life of a Showgirl' earned 3.5 million units in the U.S. since its release last Friday, according to initial reports from data tracking firm Luminate.

This figure breaks the record of the British Adele, who with 3.378 million copies sold in 2015, established a mark that is only two months away from completing a decade. This new milestone adds to a successful week in Swift's career, which on its first day of the album's release grossed 2.7 million copies and set a vinyl sales record in a single week, with 1.2 million copies sold. The release of the album was accompanied by a film, announced as an album launch party, in which Swift broke down her inspirations for the project. In fact, its premiere on the big screen grossed $15.8 million on its first day, and this Monday, Billboard, the website specializing in box office revenue, detailed that the film has reached $46 million worldwide. With 'The Life of a Showgirl', Swift moved away from the melancholic introspection of 'The Tortured Poets Department' (2024) and the dark and reflective sounds that had marked her latest productions and instead returns to the basics of the more classic pop that marked her early stages, in part thanks to the return of the producers Max Martin and Shellback, with whom she worked on songs like 'Blank Space' or 'Shake It Off'.
