Who is Ernesto Jimenez?

Ernesto Aurelio Jiménez, also known as “El Gurú” or just Ernesto Jiménez, is a Dominican economist, communicator, and political analyst, with a solid academic background and an outstanding career in the media. He has participated in various radio and television programs where he has earned the respect of the public for his analytical capacity, his clear language, and his commitment to truth and civic values.

Ernesto Jiménez's Training

Ernesto Jiménez, a graduate in Economics, holds specializations in Finance, History, Coaching, Politics, International Relations, and Leadership. This multidisciplinary training has enabled him to address complex issues with depth and an integral vision, connecting the economy with the political and social reality of the country.

Professional Career

In his professional practice, Jiménez has worked as an independent consultant, analyst, writer, university professor, and lecturer. He also directed the digital platform DINAREJ.com, focused on providing economic and financial information for the general public.

With over eight years of experience, he has participated in television programs such as:

Stage at Alofoke Media Group (2021–2024)

In November 2021, Ernesto Jiménez joined the program Esto No Es Radio from Alofoke FM, where he stood out for his focus on political and economic issues. Later he joined other projects of the group such as Finanzas con Humor, along with Juan Carlos Guilbe, and Politikal, a political and social debate program.

On June 26, 2024, Jiménez announced his official departure from Alofoke Media Group and all its projects. Through Instagram, he thanked the experience lived with his colleagues, highlighting the personal and professional growth acquired during his time on the platform directed by Santiago Matías.

Entry to RCC Media and “El Rumbo de la Mañana” (2025)

On March 17, 2025, Ernesto Jiménez debuted as part of the new cast of the program El Rumbo de la Mañana, broadcast by Rumba 98.5 FM de RCC Media, from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The space is coordinated by Charlie Mariotti and has a cast of outstanding figures such as:

  • José del Castillo Saviñón
  • Rafael Paz
  • Virginia Antares
  • Julio Alberto Martínez
  • Ju Sanz

Jiménez expressed that it was a privilege to join this project just as the 50th anniversary of the assassination of journalist Orlando Martínez, a symbol of the fight for freedom of the press and Dominican democracy, was being commemorated. In El Rumbo de la Mañana, he provides analysis on economics and politics, and participates in interviews and direct interaction with listeners. He and Julio Alberto Martínez made the transition from El Rumbo de la Tarde, strengthening the new morning format.

Personal life

He is the son of the Dominican lawyer and politician Domingo Jiménez, who died in 2023 after a battle against cancer. He has two siblings: Violeta Charey and Jesús David.
