ALMOMENTO.NET is one of the most influential, impartial, and widely read digital newspapers in the Dominican Republic. Founded on January 11, 2008 by journalist Saúl Pimentel, this media outlet has established itself as a benchmark for agile, free, and participatory journalism at the national and international levels.

Origin of the AlMomento.net newspaper

The newspaper was born without great resources, driven solely by the enthusiasm and conviction of its founder. From its beginnings, ALMOMENTO.NET aimed to offer news with firmness, professionalism, and independence, breaking the traditional schemes of the Dominican press.

Innovation in Al Momento's digital ecosystem

Before 2008, Dominican digital newspapers only replicated their print editions around 11 in the morning and did not update until the next day. ALMOMENTO.NET changed the rules of the game by offering updated news at any time of the day, modifying its front pages every time a relevant event occurred. This practice forced other media to adopt the same model, generating a healthy informational competition that benefited the reader.

Independence and freedom of expression of the Al Momento newspaper

One of the most distinctive features of ALMOMENTO.NET is that it does not belong to any economic or political group, which has allowed it to promote an independent editorial line. The media allows users to publish uncensored comments below each news item, becoming a social thermometer of the feelings of the Dominican population. Furthermore, since its founding, the portal has opened spaces to dozens of Dominicans from different social levels to express themselves as "**op-ed writers**", challenging the old paradigm that only recognized people could give their opinion in the national press.

Audience and reach

ALMOMENTO.NET is one of the digital media outlets with the most traffic in the country, registering up to 800 visits per minute. Its content is consulted by both local readers and members of the Dominican diaspora.

Radial Division

The project also has a radio division that broadcasts news bulletins under the name “News At The Moment”, through 23 Dominican and international stations. These bulletins are narrated by the renowned announcer Marcela Rossiter, which reinforces the multimedia presence of the media.

Organizational Structure

The company that manages the newspaper is called "Noticias Al Momento SRL", chaired by "Saúl Pimentel", who was also the founder of "Cadena de Noticias (CDN)" in 1998. The work team is composed of journalists such as Jhonny Trinidad, Alí Núñez, Omar Furment and José Pimentel Muñoz, as well as a group of collaborators. In the administration are Arelis Combes and Yoseida González, while the commercial area is led by Odelis Alsina, Hilda Jiménez and Yadira Marte. Technical support is the responsibility of the companies Dominet and G Soluciones, in charge of Joman Sierra and Gabriel de los Santos, respectively.

Recognition and projection

With 17 years of experience completed in January 2025, ALMOMENTO.NET has proven to be a solid, reliable digital medium committed to informational plurality. Its success is largely due to the loyalty of its readers, columnists, and commentators, whom Saúl Pimentel himself recognizes as "one of the main pillars of support" for the medium.
