The event, which also has the militant support of the Ministry of Sports, headed by engineer Kelvin Cruz, is organized by the Santiago Boxing Association, chaired by Miguel Martínez, and a Management Committee, with the endorsement of the Dominican Boxing Federation, led by Rubén García. The countries that have confirmed their presence at the event are: Cuba, United States, France, Panama, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Honduras, Trinidad & Tobago and the Dominican Republic. As the host country, the Dominican Republic will be competing with the National Team and the Santiago team, the city that has hosted the event of gloved fists for 45 years. The International Independence Boxing Cup will be held for both men and women. Miguel Martínez, from the Santiago Boxing Association, and Pappy Pérez, who is part of the Management Committee, highlighted the interest of the countries that are coming to make a good presentation. This is because the boxing event will serve as a gauge for the Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 26, which will be held this year in the Dominican Republic. As part of their preparation, the boxers from Santiago, both male and female, have come from participating in the Precopa, where they exhibited great skills and are in excellent condition. Martínez and Pérez highlighted the setup on the roof of Los Pepines, where there is already experience, because it has been the stage of the international event.
