Mexico City.- A student from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) died this Monday after being stabbed by another student, who also injured a worker at the educational center who was transferred for medical attention after trying to stop the murder.
The events that occurred took place at the College of Sciences and Humanities, at the south campus in Mexico City, located in the Coyoacán borough, UNAM reported.

Local media outlets claim that the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing, who was taken into custody, was hooded and jumped from the top of a building, which caused him fractures.
"Upon learning of the facts, the authorities immediately activated the protocol for cases of violence involving a weapon," the UNAM stated through a press release.
The university condemned and regretted what happened, and also suspended classes immediately "to protect the community and carry out the necessary investigations by the competent authorities," the document stated.
